Our Commitment to Climate Action: Science-Based Emissions Reduction Target Approved
A&D Verpackungsmaschinenbau GmbH recognizes the urgent need to address climate change and has taken a decisive step by setting a science-based target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This near-term target has been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Why It Matters:
The climate crisis is accelerating, and the next few years are critical. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global emissions must be halved by 2030 to keep warming below 1.5°C and avoid the most severe impacts on ecosystems, economies, and communities. Businesses play a vital role in this transformation.
By aligning our emissions reduction strategy with climate science, we are not only fulfilling our environmental responsibility—we are also strengthening our resilience, future-proofing our operations, and contributing to a low-carbon economy.
Our Target:
We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 63 % by 2035 compared to our Base Year 2024. In addition, we commit to successively reducing our Scope 3 emissions.
These targets are consistent with the 1.5°C pathway outlined in the Paris Agreement and reflect our commitment to a sustainable and equitable future.
